The Office of International Affairs at NC State is pleased to announce that it now accepts passport applications on behalf of the U.S. Department of State. U.S. citizens planning international travel may apply for their passports on Tuesdays from 5:00 to 8:00pm and the second Saturday of every month from 9:00am to 3:00pm. The office plans to expand hours in Spring 2017. The new Passport Services office is located in Witherspoon Student Center, room 321.
“We’re thrilled to have a service like this in Witherspoon Student Center. We believe it will directly support the success of our campus community. Witherspoon Student Center is a great, centrally located facility in the heart of campus” says Tim Hogan, Director of NC State Student Centers.
Passport Services at NC State will serve the 1,200 plus students who study abroad annually, in addition to a well-traveled population of faculty and staff. The facility is also open to the public and is the only institution of higher education in the triangle region to offer the service. Income generated from the office is slated for student scholarships.
“In our efforts to internationalize the campus, Passport Services will help to increase study abroad participation and faculty global engagement by making international travel more accessible. Aligning with the university’s land-grant mission, the passport office also allows us to provide an important service to the community,” says Dr. Bailian Li, Vice Provost for International Affairs.
Appointments are required. The facility also offers passport photos on-site. For information on documentation required, fees and other information, visit go.ncsu.edu/passport-services.
