The Home of Global Engagement
As the umbrella organization for all of NC State’s internationalization efforts, the Office of International Affairs (OIA) strives to bring global perspectives and insights home to Raleigh — and to export NC State’s solution-driven research all over the planet.
We provide NC State faculty, staff and students with the international knowledge, cultural understanding, skills and experience they need to succeed in the global economy. We serve as the university’s center for global engagement, supplying resources and expertise to all who need them. And we collaborate with other units on campus and our international partners to create research, scholarship and economic development that address the challenges facing our world.

A Worldwide Wolfpack
NC State is the proud winner of the 2014 Senator Paul Simon Award for Comprehensive Internationalization, reflecting the university’s deep commitment to global engagement. The network of strategic partnerships maintained by OIA allows faculty across NC State to pursue collaborative international research with their peers overseas. Here at home, our regular Global Issues Seminars feature panels of experts tackling challenges relevant to North Carolina, the nation and the world.
OIA is committed to creating and attracting leaders who excel in today’s international marketplace. Through our Study Abroad Office, we offer hundreds of opportunities for NC State students to expand their horizons and further their education. Our Office of International Services fosters cross-cultural exchange and helps international students to thrive in the United States. We also promote a range of other academic opportunities for students — from high-impact programs within NC State’s colleges to dual-degree programs with institutions overseas.
